Where Neighbors Meet

Local Work Camp

Mission: Possible

Work Camp 2011

Our second week-long local work camp took place in August 2011, during which we provided home renovations for four local families. We were blessed with an enthusiastic group of volunteer work campers, crew leaders, and worship leaders as well as countless volunteers who generously donated time, food, prayer and supplies. We are so grateful to all of you who made Mission: Possible Work Camp 2011 a huge success. Praise the Lord!

Service Beyond Our Walls

Work Camp 2009

In response to our “Service Beyond Our Walls” initiative, designed to give our congregation the opportunity to use its God given gifts and talents as a group to serve its neighbors in the Pembroke and Allenstown communities, we organized and implemented a week long “work camp” in August 2009.  The entire congregation was involved with this project in some capacity. Involvement included performing the actual work on neighbors’ homes, supporting the work teams by providing food, donations, prayer and supplies, administering the project, and leading the Spiritual component of the week long work camp.

Assisting neighbors with home repairs was only one facet of the overall project. The most rewarding aspects of this endeavor were the relationships and friendships that we built within the community. The church is hopeful that work camp 2009 is the beginning of an ongoing ministry of “Service Beyond Our Walls”.
